Who doesn't like Mondays? ;)

It's good to start a week with some great news. This time it's an information that my design/artwork DM piece has been nominated to the "Best Direct Mail Low Volume" and "Best Over-all Creative" in An Post DMA (Direct Marketing Awards)! :)

It's a
direct marketing campaign for Dialogue - quite a nice piece of app. 100 hrs of design work not counting the time spent on the concept and the copy writing ;) Have a look here: http://www.agrand.ie/magnet.html and keep your fingers crossed for the good results!

Call to action!

I'm looking for short films (animations, experimental, documentary, etc) to screen them in Dublin 24th of June 2010. If you’re interested in or know somebody who may be, please write to admin@animators.ie for more details. ASAP!

My new movie is online now

Hi all,
What a good year for my art projects - I have a new short movie done!

It's an experimental film with music composition based on "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" by W. A. Mozart. We don't hear any traditional instruments - their sounds have been replaced by sounds of everyday use objects. The story is simple - a single man comes back home wishing that somebody is waiting for him...

Have a look and let me know what you think about this :)

Long time ago...

Wow, that was a long time ago when I visited my own blog ;) Maybe because I saw somewhere a photo of a cool T-shirt with a line saying "nobody cares about your blog"? Well, this statement is really true - most people write blogs for their own pleasure or events' records...

Anyway. Many things happen in last few months. In each part of my life I should say. Exciting and changing everything... I'm really curious how my life will look like in the next year - I'll have so many new experiences!

And finally I've completed a new video art! I started this project 3 years ago (sic!), worked on this for a few evenings and didn't like it so I left it for a really long while. But this year I decided to come back to this idea - the result you can see on youtube and vimeo. My initial concept was completely different - it has changed while editing - giving a performance of sound and video; I tried to synchronise them both as well as I could...

Tomorrow I will start filming for my next project - it will be an experimental short movie where - again - synchronising sound with vision will be very crucial... The audio part is ready - new and shiny interpretation of a very famous melody...

I should mention my first trip to Paris too - we were there a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed this city - such a paradise for senses...

And what do you think about Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland"? I absolutely love it!

Good year, isn't it? ;)

Yammy weekend

Ireland has really good breads. No, not really these ones you can purchase in Tesco but these from food markets and small bakeries. Organic, with loads of seeds and no added preservatives.

Yesterday, while being in Dolkey, I've a bought a small loaf of a seedy bread - it's just so so tasty I can't stop thinking about it! ;) Usually when I eat bread made for big stores my stomach gets upset - so I stopped it few years ago and started baking my own bread. It really helped but I still like to taste new ones, not baked by me. I think it's a small hobby now ;) Recently I was buying so called "fitness bread" from the Polish shop in Capel Street. Awesome. Just flower, water, seeds and yeast. No added scary chemicals.
Today, while having a lunch in Johny Fox pub (great food!!!) I ate some of their bread - what a taste! You have to try it one day. And the cheesecake I had for my dessert - heavenly pleasure.
Well, that was a really yummy weekend :)
